Reston, VA is located 20 miles north and west of Washington, DC, just north of Tyson’s Corner, VA in Fairfax County. A community based on the “planned” concept, it is quite pedestrian-friendly with lots of sidewalks and easy access. Reston Town Center is its hub, encouraging a sense of community and a less suburban feel.
Reston is home to the Reston Zoo and hosts a section of the 45 mile long Washington and Old Dominion Bike Trail.
Average home sales prices in Reston for March 2011 were $384,456, up 22.61% from the same time last year according to the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors. A home was on the market for an average of 56 days, down 15% from the same time the year prior.
