The Pentagon, located in Arlington, VA, adjacent to the Potomac River and Arlington Cemetary is the home of the Department of Defense and some 23,000 employees and one of the largest office buildings in the world. It was built in the early part of WWII, completed in January of 1943, and since 1998, has been undergoing extensive renovation, which is scheduled to be completed this year. Amazingly, according to the official website, despite its enormous size and 17.5 miles of hallways, it takes a mere 7 minutes to walk between two points in the building.
