BAH is based on area rental data, collected annually by the Defense Travel Management Office. BAH Rates in the Washington DC area fell slightly in 2011, so be sure to check the BAH Calculator for the most accurate BAH rates.

Rates may or may not change on January 1, 2012. Remember, if rate should go UP, you benefit from the increase; should rate go DOWN and you already live in the area, your BAH will remain unchanged, but if you are moving to the area, you will fall under the most current rate.
